Agentic Coding Raised My Standards
My agent is mostly a very fast, non-lazy typer.
That sounds like a small thing, but it has raised my standards.
When I had to execute every part myself, fatigue had a predictable shape: one less test case, the refactor I would “come back to,” the rename that would make an awkward boundary clearer.
Now, when something feels off, I can stop and make it right. I describe the concern, discuss the approach, and have the agent work through the changes, tests, and scenarios with me.
I still need to know what good looks like. In fact, I think that is where I spend more attention now.
Agentic coding did not remove the work. It removed enough of the typing and mechanical follow-through that I have fewer excuses to leave known problems behind.
